Grand Theft Auto VI Premium Edition Leads Pre-Orders at $100

Some missions and stores have been cut from the base edition.

High pricing appears not to deter players from Grand Theft Auto VI. According to Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, pre-orders for the game are running “much better than expectations,” and the more expensive premium edition is proving especially popular among those who have placed orders.

In an interview with CNBC, Zelnick discussed the initial pre-order performance of GTA VI. The game, which will be the first new mainline entry in the Grand Theft Auto series in 13 years, is already generating increasing optimism for the company ahead of release.

Answering a question about the pre-order distribution between the $79.99 standard edition and the $99.99 premium edition, the Take-Two head noted that demand is “skewed toward the premium edition.”

At the same time, Zelnick did not state that this ratio will hold after the full launch. In his view, the current situation may be explained by the fact that the game is currently being pre-ordered primarily by the most dedicated fans of the series.

The $99.99 premium edition of GTA 6 includes additional bonuses, including five exclusive stores, the ’95 Grotti Cheetah and ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy vehicles, personalized weapon variants, and other additional content.
