Gen V Star Cast as Angel in X-Men Reboot, Reports Say
Asher Haegerman originally auditioned for the role of Cyclops, which ultimately went to Kit Connor.
Asher Haegerman has joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ new X-Men movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Gen V star will play Warren Worthington III, also known as Angel. The publication also confirmed earlier reports that Haegerman originally auditioned for the role of Cyclops, which will instead be played by Kit Connor.
Angel was a member of the original X-Men lineup and first appeared in comic books in 1963. Warren was born with large wings that allow him to fly. Apocalypse later transformed the hero into Archangel, equipping him with metallic wings capable of firing lethal projectiles.

Alongside Kit Connor, Marvel has also cast Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Maya Boyd as Storm, Indi Navarrette as Rogue, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister.
Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier will direct X-Men. The film is scheduled to premiere on May 5, 2028.
