Gears of War: E-Day Sets Franchise Record in Early Access
Gears of War: E-Day has already set a new franchise record for concurrent players on Steam before its official launch, nearly doubling the peak of Gears 5.
The game developed by The Coalition releases on October 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, including Steam. Buyers of the most expensive edition gained access early through Advanced Access.
Despite a mixed reception from players regarding early access, it drew a sizable audience. The peak concurrent player count for E-Day reached 20,374 people, marking the highest result in the franchise’s history excluding free beta tests.
For comparison, the previous record belonged to Gears 5 at 10,196 players. Gears Tactics recorded 7,351 players. E-Day could climb much higher following its full release.
