AION 2 Pre-Registrations Surpass 100,000 Players
Before its full release, AION 2 attracted hundreds of thousands of players, with peak concurrent players exceeding 171,000.
The MMORPG market experiences ups and downs, making success difficult to guarantee even for major projects. Recently, players have focused on World of Warcraft Forever, a new game in the Lineage universe, and updates for The Elder Scrolls Online. Now they are joined by AION 2, the sequel to the cult MMORPG.
During the early access period, which lasted several days, servers had more than 171,000 players online simultaneously. At the time of writing, concurrent players hold at 100,000. For a pre-order access phase in an MMORPG, this is an impressive result.
The full release of NCSoft’s game is scheduled for October 5. AION 2 could turn out more successful than the studio’s other MMORPG, Throne & Liberty. The rating based on 5,587 reviews stands at 75% positive.
