GameSir Prepares a Revolution: A Controller That Feels Like a Steering Wheel

Racing enthusiasts have a sophisticated new peripheral to look forward to: the Swift Drive.

Developed by GameSir, the Swift Drive is tailored for gamers who lack the space for a bulky steering wheel cockpit or wish to avoid the steep costs of premium sim-racing rigs. It serves as a versatile hybrid, merging the ergonomics of a gamepad with the precision of a racing wheel in a remarkably compact form factor.

The standout feature of the Swift Drive is the miniature steering wheel mounted at the center of the controller. It is powered by what the manufacturer describes as the “world’s smallest direct drive motor,” which provides authentic resistance, vibrations, and tactile feedback previously exclusive to high-end hardware. GameSir utilizes Hall Effect sensors to achieve ultra-fine precision, offering up to 65,000 levels of resolution. The steering angle is fully adjustable from 30 to 1080 degrees, and the wheel itself can be detached and swapped.

These Hall Effect sensors also power the analog sticks and buttons for maximum durability and accuracy. Furthermore, the triggers are equipped with independent haptic motors designed to simulate ABS pulses and tire traction loss. The controller maintains a stable 2.4 GHz wireless connection and boasts a battery life of 20 to 30 hours, even with active haptic feedback and RGB lighting enabled.

GameSir has yet to announce the official pricing or a specific release date for the device.
