GTA 6 Reportedly Features System to Break Morality Mechanic Through Chaos
In GTA VI, players will be able to push the crime evaluation system to a point where it completely stops tracking their actions.
If a player commits enough violent and chaotic acts, the special Criminal Profile meter will literally break.
As it turns out, Rockstar Games borrowed several mechanics from Red Dead Redemption 2, including a system that evaluates player behavior.
Instead of the honor system familiar from RDR2, GTA VI will use a Criminal Profile. This profile determines what kind of criminal the player is. For instance, pulling off a robbery without harming random bystanders will gradually push the character toward a more “professional” criminal type. Conversely, killing innocent citizens will increase the cruelty level.
During a presentation at Rockstar North, content creator TGG learned additional details about the system. According to him, the Criminal Profile initially features four primary behavior types: Professional, Aggressive, Brutal, and Psychopath.

However, as studio co-head Rob Nelson explained, a fifth, unnamed state also exists. It is intended for players who go so far with their crimes that the system effectively deems them beyond redemption.
When a player commits a large number of exceptionally violent acts, the Criminal Profile logo starts to crack and then shatters completely. After that, the game stops tracking player actions within this system for the rest of the playthrough. Returning to the “light side” will no longer be possible.
According to TGG, reaching this state will be quite difficult. In essence, it serves as an option for those who do not want to interact with the Criminal Profile system at all and intend to spend the entire game playing in a maximally chaotic style.
The mechanic also has a practical purpose. In Red Dead Redemption 2, a player could spend most of the game committing violent acts and then relatively quickly raise their honor near the finale. In GTA VI, Rockstar appears to have decided against allowing players to fully cleanse their reputation after a prolonged period of crime.
At the same time, Rockstar has not yet disclosed all the consequences of choosing a particular profile. It has already been confirmed that player actions will influence how the story unfolds, and certain characters will react differently to Jason and Lucia.
