FYI: The subsequent Xbox is called merely ‘Xbox’

While we’re a PC gaming web site, in the end we’ll have to check with Microsoft’s subsequent console and meaning you’ll have to know its identify. Microsoft introduced the identify ‘Xbox Series X’ alongside Hellblade 2 at The Game Awards final week but it surely seems that’s the identify of a mannequin, not the entire line. No, persevering with the positive custom of product names which create issues that future merchandise should later clear up, Microsoft are calling this merely ‘Xbox’. Not Xbox Two, Xbox 4, or Xbox 1080, simply Xbox. Maybe nobody instructed them they’ve used that earlier than.

“The name we’re carrying forward to the next generation is simply Xbox,” Microsoft instructed Business Insider, “and at The Game Awards you saw that name come to life through the Xbox Series X.”

Yes, it positively got here to life. It gurgled, it burped, Geoff Keighley spanked it on its little plastic backside, Bill Gates minimize its energy wire, it burst into tears, and Phil Spencer checked out its sockets then proudly declared “It’s the future of console gaming!” I believe it’s cheesy to indicate a new child off in public to get consideration for your self, Ian Soft, however you do you.

“Similar to what fans have seen with previous generations, the name ‘Xbox Series X’ allows room for additional consoles in the future,” Microsoft added to Business Insider.

Their newest console technology began with Xbox One then branched into the Xbox One Elite, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X. They actually are terrible with names. Perhaps they might identify the following mannequin within the Xbox sequence Xbox Series 360, then Xbox Series 360 S, and Xbox Series 360 E, Xbox Series 360 Core, Xbox Series 360 Elite, Xbox Series 360 Super Elite, Xbox Series 360 Arcade, then Xbox Series One, then… oh pricey.

So now you recognize. On the brilliant aspect, I can simply say ‘Xbox’ and ‘Xbox games’ be performed with it.
