Frostpunk 2’s First Expansion, Fractured Utopia, Launches in December with a New Mode and 100 Events

Frostpunk 2 is set to receive its first major expansion soon. 11 bit studios has revealed the release date, and the wait is almost over.

Fans have been anticipating a full expansion for more than a year, and that wait is drawing to a close. The Polish studio confirmed that Frostpunk 2: Fractured Utopias will launch on December 8, 2025.

The headline addition is a new mode — Utopia. It brings a fresh location, eight development branches, distinct hubs for each faction, and over a hundred narrative events.

The developers are also offering some players early access to the content. Closed playtests begin on the weekend of November 1–2, 2025; sign-ups are available through the official website. Testing will run until November 3, 2025.

Frostpunk 2: Fractured Utopias represents a major step in the game’s evolution, promising to deepen the decision-making mechanics and the social conflicts that have defined the series.
