Playground Games’ acclaimed open-world masterpiece, Forza Horizon 6, was initially slated for a PlayStation 5 debut this year, but its release window has officially shifted to early 2027. Fans can mark their calendars for a January 26 launch.

For those eager to hit the asphalt ahead of the crowd, purchasing the Premium Edition unlocks five days of early access starting January 21—coinciding with the debut of the game’s inaugural paid expansion across all supported platforms, including the PS5. Furthermore, automotive enthusiasts who prefer physical media will be pleased to find disc versions available at major retailers on day one. Much like last year’s acclaimed port of Forza Horizon 5, this new iteration is being crafted by the talented team at Panic Button.

Playground Games has confirmed that a silky-smooth 60 FPS Performance mode will also be featured at launch, though specific optimization details for the enhanced PlayStation 5 Pro hardware remain under wraps for now.

Drivers who secure an early reservation through pre-ordering will receive a heavily modified, pre-tuned Ferrari J50 delivered straight to their in-game garage the moment they wrap up the prologue.

When it arrives on Sony’s console, Forza Horizon 6 will feature full cross-play and cross-progression capabilities alongside Xbox and Steam users. Additionally, the vibrant ecosystem of user-generated creations will be entirely cross-platform. This means PS5 drivers gain immediate day-one access to an expansive library of community-designed EventLab tracks, custom vehicles, specialized garages, aesthetic liveries, and fine-tuned configurations.

Experience the thrill early when Forza Horizon 6 accelerates onto the PlayStation 5 on January 21, preceding the worldwide release on January 26.
