Forbes Hints at Deadpool and Wolverine Appearing in “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars”
In a new article the outlet singled out the characters as part of Marvel’s forthcoming films.
Speculation has swirled for some time about which actors from earlier installments might reprise their iconic roles in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Day of Judgment and Avengers: Secret Wars. The most attention has centered on the possible reunion of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Now fans have fresh material to debate: Forbes, while examining the budget for Deadpool & Wolverine, unexpectedly noted that both characters are “expected in the next two Avengers films.”
That brief statement was enough for many to read it as a quasi-official confirmation that Deadpool and Wolverine will appear in Day of Judgment and Secret Wars.
Curiously, elsewhere in the piece Forbes leans on reporting from That Park Place and The Standard, yet the reference to Reynolds’ and Jackman’s future involvement appears only in Forbes’ own text. That inconsistency prompted suggestions the outlet may have inadvertently disclosed non-public industry information.
Still, it’s possible the line simply reflects a journalist’s synthesis of circulating rumors. To date, the returns of Reynolds and Jackman have remained speculative. After the blockbuster success of Deadpool & Wolverine, which grossed $1.34 billion, MCU fans expected the duo to show up in subsequent crossovers; however, Marvel and Disney have stayed tight-lipped. Earlier reports indicated the studios do not plan to reveal additional roles until closer to each film’s premiere.
Avengers: Day of Judgment is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
