The announcement took place during the 2026 FFXIV Fan Fest opening ceremony. Creative Business Unit III—the team renowned for their work on Final Fantasy XVI—treated fans to a breathtaking four-and-a-half-minute cinematic trailer. The footage depicts a hauntingly beautiful tale narrated by a grandmother, describing a world locked in an eternal deep freeze until the arrival of the “Wanderer.” The trailer spotlights the Warrior of Light brandishing the Reaper job, a nod to the mechanics introduced in 2021’s Endwalker, perfectly bridging the gap into this new saga.
While an exact launch date remains forthcoming, Evercold will arrive across all current platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PC.
