Sony Removes God of War III Remastered from Store Following Error

A single pricing glitch allowed thousands of players to buy a classic title for pennies, leaving Sony to pull the game page from the storefront while it deals with the fallout.

Sony temporarily removed God of War III Remastered from the PlayStation Store in several regions following a pricing error that listed the game for just 9.99 pesos, or around 50 cents, in the Mexican store.

The issue arose amid changes to Sony’s regional policies in select Latin American countries. The company is shifting pricing calculations from US dollars to local currencies to simplify purchases and make prices clearer.

However, a glitch occurred during the currency conversion for God of War III Remastered in the Mexican PS Store. The game became available at a fraction of its normal price, even during major sales.

News of the nearly free purchase spread quickly across social media, and players rushed to claim the discount. Before Sony could fix the mistake, thousands of orders were placed at the reduced price.

To halt further losses, the company temporarily hid the game page in several regions. This sparked fears that the classic project had been removed from the PlayStation catalog permanently.
