Filming for the New “Jumanji” Begins in November

The Hollywood Reporter says production on the next Jumanji installment will begin soon, with filming scheduled to start in November in Los Angeles.

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan are set to return, and Jake Kasdan will direct. Plot specifics have not been revealed.

The original Jumanji, starring Robin Williams, was released in 1995 and was adapted from the book of the same name. Its story followed teenagers who become trapped inside a mysterious game.

The franchise was revived with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017 and Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019; together those two films earned roughly $1.7 billion at the global box office.

Sony is slated to release the new Jumanji on December 11, 2026.
