New “Paranormal Activity” Delayed to Fall 2027
Paramount has pushed back the release of the eighth film in the Paranormal Activity franchise. Originally scheduled to arrive on May 21, 2027, the movie will now open in theaters on October 22, just ahead of Halloween.
Ian Tuason, director of the horror film Undertone, is at the helm. James Wan joins the project as a producer, marking his first involvement with the franchise. Original Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli is also returning to the production, alongside Jason Blum.
Plot details remain under wraps. The new story is said to center on the same house featured in the first Paranormal Activity. Peli’s original film went wide in 2009 and earned nearly $194 million worldwide on a budget of around $15,000. The franchise has grossed more than $900 million in total.
