Reports online indicate that production has begun on the third installment of the «Child of Darkness» franchise. The film will be titled Orphans.
The project is intended to connect the first and second films in the series. Isabelle Fuhrman is set to reprise the lead role as the demonic orphan Esther. Returning to the director’s chair is William Brent Bell, who helmed the sequel «The First Victim».
The project was first revealed in 2023. The original «Child of Darkness» premiered in 2009, followed by the sequel in 2022. Together, those two films have grossed approximately $122.7 million worldwide.
No official release date for the third installment has been announced. Distribution will be handled by Lionsgate.
