The world of American Truck Simulator is soon to expand with another state.
The developers behind the truck-driving simulator American Truck Simulator continue to unveil upcoming content. They released a developer diary focused on the creation of the Louisiana DLC.
This time SCS Software invites players to explore the region’s drawbridges and ferry crossings:
Louisiana’s landscape is shaped by its intimate relationship with water. From winding bayous to wide rivers and coastal inlets, the state’s transport network depends heavily on a variety of crossings. Our team sought to convey this distinctive side of road life, giving players a more authentic driving experience that reflects both the natural and industrial facets of Louisiana.
The Louisiana DLC will feature several ferry routes, including Cameron–Holly Beach, Cote Blanche and Port Fourchon, where ferries provide the only link to offshore oil storage facilities.
The state also includes numerous locks and movable bridges; while on jobs you’ll be able to watch them open to let boats pass:
These elements add more dynamism to your journey, creating moments when you may want to pause, watch and appreciate the surroundings before continuing your delivery.
You can add the Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator to your Steam wishlist via this link. The developers have not announced a release date yet.
As usual, the images shown are work-in-progress and do not reflect the final quality of the content.
