Fan-Made Project Diablo 2 to Add Ammunition System with Various Bonuses

Fans haven’t forgotten the classics and are keeping them alive through their own efforts.

Not all followers of the ARPG franchise are happy with Diablo IV, but they do have an alternative. Enthusiasts are actively developing their own version of the second installment.

The creators of Project Diablo 2 recently outlined their plans for Season 12. They’ve chosen to expand the bow and crossbow systems, introducing a wider range of ammunition.

• For bows: Crude Arrows, Sharp Arrows, Razer Arrows (blade arrows).
• For crossbows: Light Bolts, Heavy Bolts, War Bolts.

Arrows will grant bonuses to maximum damage depending on their quality; bolts will be able to bypass a target’s physical resistance.

Ammunition may feature one or multiple sockets, and there are special crafting recipes and rune words planned for them.

They’ve created 12 distinct ammunition variants (six arrows and six bolts). For example, the Tombsong arrow can summon additional skeleton archers and provide buffs, while Frozen Sorrow bolts will boost cold-skill effectiveness, slow enemies, leech mana, and offer other enhancements.
