GOG Explores Bringing Back Physical PC Games
While many PC gamers have long since switched to digital distribution, some players still want physical editions in their collections.
Some PlayStation fans are currently pushing back against Sony moving away from physical game discs, and digital storefronts on PC have long since replaced physical versions while many computers lack disc drives. However, GOG aims to change the current status quo on the PC market.
During a recent conversation with GamesRadar+, GOG Senior Business Development and Partnerships Manager Marcin Paczynski stated that he would like to offer users a system that lets them order physical copies of any game from the store:
Imagine: you log into your GOG library, click on a game you would like to get a physical copy of, order it, and have it shipped to you. That would be the ideal scenario.

Marcin Paczynski noted that GOG has been considering this concept for several years. However, turning such an idea into a working business model is no simple task. A potential shift toward physical retail game sales involves various legal complexities, and the company would also need to figure out logistics regarding storage and order fulfillment:
This idea has been floating around inside GOG for many years. And personally, I still really hope that one day we will manage to bring it to life.
