Dune: Awakening to Get Free Update Featuring Snowy Arrakis and 35 Hours of Survival
Dune: Awakening is receiving a free expansion called Blood and Ice on December 1, 2026, which will add snowy territories on Arrakis and roughly 35 hours of new content.
Players will be able to explore the Polar Sink in the north of the planet. The expansion will offer two new biomes featuring resources and activities, with a primary focus on surface survival covering terrain traversal, temperature management, and combat.
In November, Funcom will add an offline single-player mode. January 2027 will bring character cloning and full cross-play. Additional locations, mechanics, free content, and reward-bearing in-game events are also scheduled for the coming year.
Additionally, a cosmetic store has already launched in the game. It sells outfits, vehicle paints, and base decorations. The inventory will be regularly updated, including with looks inspired by the Dune films.
