SCS Software Tours World of Volvo in Gothenburg

On May 3, 2025, SCS Software released an SCS On The Road episode from World of Volvo in Gothenburg. SCS Director of Global Partnerships Oscar joined World of Volvo guide Povel for a tour of the exhibition and the shared history of Volvo Cars and the Volvo Group.

SCS Software described a 236,000-square-foot building, equal to about 22,000 square metres. Timber structures and large windows shape the interior. Historic vehicles sit alongside interactive art and spaces where visitors can operate machinery and try digital simulations.

The episode covers a real electric excavator, a moving-bus balance test, and a virtual-reality boat docking activity. World of Volvo also lists a wind tunnel, the Distractville driving game, and displays about the development of Volvo safety systems. The exhibits connect engineering history with equipment that visitors can use rather than view behind glass.

SCS Software’s video tour

World of Volvo is located at Lyckholms Torg 1 in Gothenburg. The centre continues the story of the former Volvo Museum, which closed in December 2023. The old museum opened in 1995 and held cars, trucks, buses, marine engines, and aircraft engines. World of Volvo displays part of that collection, so the selection can change.
