Magic: The Gathering’s Avatar: The Last Airbender expansion is arriving soon, translating Aang and the world around him into collectible cards you’ll find in boosters and draft pods. Wizards of the Coast let us preview several entries from the set, including fresh designs and a handful of reprints with new animated treatments.
Our exclusive reveal centers on an Ally-themed creature that pushes colorful deckbuilding. Earthen Ally is a modest 0/2 that costs a single green mana, but its offensive potential grows with each distinct color represented among the Allies you control. Additionally, you can pay 2 and WUBRG to trigger an Earthbend 5 effect — a new mechanic that effectively turns lands into attackers for a short time.
Alongside that original design are some updated reprints: Meteorite, Sunbaked Canyon, Treetop Village, Volcanic Torrent, and Warstorm Surge all appear in animated form in this set. Sunbaked Canyon is a welcome inclusion for Boros builds, while Treetop Village is a classic touch that complements the Earthbending strategies nicely.
The full expansion launches on November 21, 2025, with pre-release events beginning the weekend before, on November 14, 2025.
