A24 has officially confirmed that Alex Garland’s highly anticipated Elden Ring adaptation is slated for a March 3, 2028 release. The production has secured an impressive ensemble cast featuring Heartstopper star Kit Connor, alongside Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, and Tom Burke.
The stellar lineup continues with Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, and Peter Serafinowicz joining the project. Drawing inspiration from FromSoftware’s monumental dark fantasy title, the film has secured “Filmed for IMAX” certification, ensuring a premium large-format experience upon release.
Confirmation of the cast follows months of intense speculation and rumors regarding production schedules and casting choices, which have now proven remarkably accurate. According to A24, the cameras are scheduled to roll this spring.
Many of the chosen actors are familiar faces within Garland’s creative orbit. Connor recently appeared in Warfare, while Spaeny and Offerman were key players in Civil War. Furthermore, Spaeny and Mizuno both starred in Garland’s acclaimed limited series Devs, with Mizuno also having worked with the director on his breakout feature, Ex Machina. Notably, Peter Serafinowicz brings direct FromSoftware heritage to the project, having provided the voice for Pate in Dark Souls 2.
