Eiichiro Oda knows how Netflix’s One Piece series will end
Netflix’s One Piece adaptation will not mirror the indefinite run of the original manga.
Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, has already determined the specific narrative milestone where the live-action Netflix series should conclude. This insight was shared by Mackenyu, the actor who portrays Roronoa Zoro, during an appearance on The Movie Podcast ahead of the second season’s debut.
According to the actor, Oda possesses a definitive roadmap for the show’s trajectory. Rather than attempting to adapt every single chapter until the manga’s ultimate finale, the creator has designated a specific story arc that will serve as the natural conclusion for the live-action format.
While the One Piece manga has been in serialization since 1997 and the anime since 1999, the legendary quest for the ultimate treasure continues to unfold. However, it appears the Netflix iteration will avoid such extreme longevity, opting for a more streamlined journey that won’t span decades.
The second season of “One Piece” premiered on Netflix today, March 10, with all eight episodes now available for streaming.
