A new installment in the renowned racing franchise should not be expected before 2027.
EA has officially announced that fans of the F1 series should not anticipate a new full game in 2026. Instead, the company plans to release a paid expansion for F1 25 that will introduce new cars, teams, drivers, and the 2026 season regulations.
The next full entry in the series is slated for 2027. EA promises this will be a “reimagined and more expansive” EA Sports F1, delivering an “authentic and innovative Formula 1 experience” with entirely new mechanics and gameplay.
The decision comes after the mixed reception to the launch of F1 25, which was initially intended to be the final title under the current contract, although an option to extend for two additional years existed.
Details on the expansion’s release date and pricing for F1 25 will be announced next year.
