The headline announcement from this weekend’s Dragon Ball Battle Hour has finally lifted the veil on the project previously known as Age 1000: it is officially Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Fans have been eagerly anticipating this announcement for a decade, and the latest installment in this hybrid RPG-fighting franchise is slated for release next year.

Set during the enigmatic “Age 1000” era, the debut trailer offers a vibrant look at a futuristic metropolis through the eyes of a spirited, Saiyan-like protagonist. The character, sporting an aesthetic reminiscent of young Gohan, displays a unique flair—switching into a crime-fighting ensemble that echoes the Great Saiyaman aesthetic. The footage also features a mysterious, white-haired youth previously teased in early promotional material, alongside appearances from Bulma, Piccolo, and Gamma 2 from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

While gameplay mechanics and narrative specifics remain largely under wraps, Bandai Namco has offered a promising glimpse of what to expect. According to the publisher, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 aims to carry forward the series’ legacy, offering a fresh, expansive experience in a previously uncharted corner of the Dragon Ball multiverse, meticulously shaped by the series’ creator, Akira Toriyama.
