The final installment of the WandaVision trilogy premieres on October 14 on Disney+.

Marvel Studios has released a praise-filled trailer for Vision Quest featuring early critical reactions. In the video, reviewers praise Paul Bettany and James Spader, while describing the series itself as “a true love letter to WandaVision fans.”

Daniel Baptista of The Movie Podcast described the show as “psychedelic and mesmerizing.” According to other quoted reviews, Bettany “shines” in every episode, and Spader steals the spotlight as Ultron.

Josh Wilding of ComicBookMovie was equally full of praise after watching the finale:

“Just watched the finale. Talk about a subversion of expectations! Incredibly powerful. Such a stunning show about fathers and sons, love and grief, and what it means to be human. This is how you do superhero television—the Marvel Cinematic Universe is at its absolute best here.”
Josh Wilding, writer at ComicBookMovie

These are only initial impressions so far. The embargo for full reviews lifts on October 12 at 10:00 PM Moscow time, meaning the series does not yet have ratings on aggregator sites.

According to the plot, the rebuilt Vision is hiding from those who tried to turn him into a weapon and is searching for a new purpose in existence. He seeks advice from the personalities of other artificial intelligences embedded in his programming code: Ultron, FRIDAY, E.D.I.T.H., and Jarvis. When a bounty is placed on his head, Vision goes on the run alongside Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious young man who may be a new incarnation of his son.

The first two episodes of Vision Quest will release on Disney+ on October 14. The season will consist of eight episodes in total.
