Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Challenges Escape from Tarkov and ARC Raiders
Activision will launch the revamped DMZ extraction mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 20, three days before the full release, stepping into territory held by Escape from Tarkov and ARC Raiders.
Activision will open early access to the campaign and the updated DMZ mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 for all digital edition purchasers, with the extraction mode becoming available ahead of the full game release.
The single-player campaign will open on October 16, and DMZ will open on October 20. The full release is scheduled for October 23. Early access is included with all digital editions.
In DMZ, players must complete objectives, gather loot, and evacuate from a dangerous zone while fighting both AI-controlled opponents and other players. The developers promise story missions, puzzles, and gear progression.
Action will take place on the Khajin map, which is contaminated with radiation. Changing weather and enemy troop movements will affect raids. A safe zone where combat is prohibited will also be featured.
According to Activision, the new version of DMZ will be significantly larger in scale than the experimental 2022 mode. Whether it can compete with Escape from Tarkov and ARC Raiders will be seen at launch.
