A former professional player voiced support for Dota fans aiming to elevate their level of play.
Some Dota 2 fans aspire to become professional esports players, but not every parent accepts their child’s ambitions.
The LEGENDWP DOTA 2 community highlighted a clip from a stream by former pro Mikhail “Misha” Agatov. A viewer asked him: “Should I quit Dota and stop trying to join a team if my parents are against it?”
Mikhail suggested that in this situation one should listen to their own desires:
I don’t think you should quit Dota just because your parents oppose it — not if you’re trying to break into a pro team. The best path is to pursue what you truly feel. Otherwise you’ll regret it deeply later, and your parents will likely just shrug. So in this situation, I don’t think you should follow their objections.
