Doki Doki Literature Club Returns to Android Five Months After Google Play Removal

Serenity Forge has found a new mobile home for its game following its removal from the Google store.

The psychological horror game Doki Doki Literature Club is officially available on Android once again. Serenity Forge released the mobile version on the Epic Games Store, choosing to shift the game to an alternative platform instead of making the content changes that would have been required after its removal from Google Play over sensitive content.

Previously, Serenity Forge and project creator Dan Salvato stated that they disagreed with Google’s decision and felt the game handles mental health themes carefully.

Doki Doki Literature Club was released on PC in 2017 and quickly gained cult status. The visual novel begins as a harmless story about a school literature club, but gradually transforms into a psychological horror experience dealing with themes of depression, loneliness, and self-destruction.

The game remains available on the App Store without restriction.
