Disney’s Next Indiana Jones Attraction to Feature Harrison Ford Animatronic
Disney Imagineers unveiled Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent for Disney’s Animal Kingdom during D23. The new ride features an Indiana Jones animatronic modeled directly after Harrison Ford for the first time.
Ford had not previously lent his likeness to Indiana Jones attractions in Disney parks. For fans of Blade Runner and its sequel, seeing a robotic version of the actor might carry a familiar feeling. Ford confirmed his participation in a short video shown during the Horizons: A Carousel of Progress panel on Aug. 14.
Details shared at the event outlined the storyline for the ride. Visitors will follow Indy as he explores the ruins of an ancient Maya temple protected by Tsukán, the titular Jade Serpent. The expedition pulls Indy and riders into the underworld, building to a dramatic escape. Disney collaborated with experts in Maya archaeology and anthropology to ensure an accurate cultural representation.
Disney specifically announced Ford as the physical model for the animatronic figure. The studio has not confirmed whether Ford will voice the character. If Ford does not record dialogue, Disney could look to Troy Baker, who voiced Indy in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Disney has not yet set an opening date for Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. The attraction forms part of the Tropical Americas expansion at Animal Kingdom, joining a ride based on Encanto and the El Carrusel de los Animalitos carousel featuring Disney and Pixar characters.
