Disney Plus Raises Subscription Prices

Comment Views: 2

Disney is raising the price of its Disney Plus streaming service in what has become an annual tradition. New prices rolled out on Wednesday and include a $2.50 hike on stand-alone Premium subscriptions to Disney Plus and Hulu. Other subscription options, including ad-supported tiers and bundles that pack in ESPN, are also going up.

Disney’s latest price increases arrive one year to the day after the last round of price hikes were announced. The Disney Plus price hike follows similar increases from Netflix, Peacock, and Apple TV this year as streaming services look to profitability over subscriber growth.

Effective immediately, Disney Plus costs $12.49 per month for the service’s ad-supported tier and $21.49 per month, or $214.99 annually, for Disney Plus Premium, which does not have ads. Bundling Disney Plus with Hulu costs $21.99 per month for the Premium subscription option, which is 50 cents more than a stand-alone sub.

Disney has steadily raised the service price and offerings in recent years, with annual price hikes coming over the past four years.
