Developers of flight sim “Korea. IL-2” demonstrate jet engine start-up
1C Game Studios continues to unveil further details about the project.
The team behind “Korea: The IL-2 Series” recently released a new teaser. 1C Game Studios shared a few insights into their work on visual effects.
The visibility of a piston-engine’s exhaust will vary between night and day:
In “Korea” we were able to refine this element. We’ve also added flashes for piston-engine exhausts, and — naturally — if a jet engine experiences a compressor stall, it will include light sources that illuminate the aircraft.
For each exhaust shape, the artists created a custom effect tailored to its geometry.
The creators of “Korea: The IL-2 Series” also published an example demonstrating a jet-engine start-up procedure.
