After years of player requests, Final Fantasy XIV will let you dress your Warrior of Light without class, job, or level restrictions. The feature arrives with Patch 7.4, Into The Mist, which is scheduled to go live on December 16.
Director Naoki Yoshida revealed the change at the close of Live Letter 89, which also covered November’s Patch 7.38 and details for the December update. Patch 7.4 includes a new Main Scenario Quest that Yoshida described as “the first step of the new plot line,” as reported by PCGamesN, but he reserved the glamour announcement as the livestream’s standout moment. See the announcement on Bluesky.
Under the current system, glamorous gear can only be equipped when it matches your character’s active class, job, or level. Beginning December 16, those constraints are removed — so you’ll be able to outfit a Bard in Dragoon armor, a Ninja in samurai threads, or mix-and-match however you like.
