DC Comics’ K.O. event, which launched in early October, stages an all‑out tournament pitting icons like Superman and Batman against one another to claim the title of King Omega and stop Darkseid’s apocalyptic designs. The opening issue overflows with unexpected twists, and the storyline soon expands beyond DC’s own rosters to include guest appearances from other franchises — notably The Boys and Mortal Kombat.
During the Jim Lee and Friends panel at New York Comic Con, DC confirmed a February 2026 special that will bring in outside characters: Homelander from The Boys, Mortal Kombat’s Sub‑Zero, Vampirella, Red Sonja, the possessed doll Annabelle from The Conjuring, and Samantha from Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees are all slated to appear in the tie‑in.
Series writer Scott Snyder called the installment “a big special… something you can pick up and really enjoy on your own” (via Popverse), while DC president Jim Lee teased the inevitable fantasy matchups: “Who doesn’t want to see Homelander fight Superman?” Attendees also captured promo artwork by Jeff Spokes that lines the guest characters up before what appears to be a Boom Tube backdrop.
The announcement follows last month’s cross‑publisher one‑shot Deadpool/Batman #1, which delivered a string of playful team‑ups. DC will publish Batman/Deadpool #1 in November, and the intercompany collaborations continue into 2026 with planned titles pairing Superman and Spider‑Man.
DC K.O. will run across multiple DC series into next year, intersecting with ongoing books such as Superman #31. The next issue of the event, DC K.O. #2, is scheduled for release on November 26.
