DC Studios Cancels Wonder Woman Series

DC Studios has officially halted development on two high-profile television projects: the Amanda Waller spin-off and the Wonder Woman prequel series, Paradise Lost, as reported by Variety.

The Amanda Waller series was intended to serve as a continuation of the character’s arc, portrayed by Viola Davis in The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. The show was originally slated as a cornerstone of the revamped DC Universe under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran.

Meanwhile, Paradise Lost was envisioned as a prequel to the Wonder Woman saga. Set on the Amazonian home of Themyscira, the series was meant to explore events long before Diana’s birth, with creators drawing inspiration from the political intrigue of Game of Thrones.

While both shows had been in various stages of pre-production, they have now been removed from DC Studios’ active development slate.
