The fairytale adventure from the creators of The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince will launch in the West in 2027 for PS5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC.

NIS America will release the fairytale adventure game The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster on PS5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam in the West in 2027.

The game is created by the team behind The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince and The Cruel King and the Great Hero. It will feature Japanese voice acting with English subtitles. In Japan, the game was released on April 30, 2026, for PS5, Switch 2, and Switch.

In the game world, a mysterious disease called Paper Mortis turns people into illustrated books and books into monsters. The main protagonist, Mono, tries to save her sister, who has been infected with the incurable disease. To do this, she must team up with a revenge-driven monster named Maeve.

Mono will travel to the Librarium, where her sister is being held. Players will explore various fairytale books, learn the stories of the girls transformed into them, solve puzzles, and fight bosses. The game features a hand-drawn visual style that mimics an illustrated book.
