Cyclops actor cast for new X-Men movie
It appears Marvel Studios has identified a frontrunner for a pivotal role in its highly anticipated X-Men reboot. According to reports from Deadline, Kit Connor is currently the top contender to portray Scott Summers, widely known as Cyclops.
Insiders suggest the actor is leading the pack to helm the mutant team, though a formal offer has yet to be extended. Maintaining their standard protocol, Marvel declined to comment on casting rumors, and representatives for Connor have remained silent on the matter.
Should negotiations prove fruitful, Connor will join the refreshed lineup of mutants, which Marvel Studios is developing in the wake of the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. The studio has already confirmed Sadie Sink for the role of Jean Grey, and reports indicate that discussions are underway to cast iconic characters such as Professor X, Magneto, and Beast.
The X-Men reboot will be helmed by director Jake Schreier, known for his work on Thunderbolts. The film is slated to serve as the cornerstone of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s new mutant saga, with a projected release in 2028.
