CS2 pro players were offered $10,000 to throw a tournament—they publicly refused and then lost all five matches

Avanti Esport faced a crushing defeat during their latest Counter-Strike 2 tournament appearance.

The Counter-Strike 2 community was recently set abuzz following the release of a private correspondence shared by a member of the Avanti Esport roster.

The leaked messages revealed that a third party had approached player BlocH with a lucrative $10,000 bribe. The condition for the payout was for the team to intentionally lose their matches against FOKUS, KOLESIE, Team Voca, Apogee Esports, and AM Gaming during the “Parken Challenger Championship #2.”

In a display of transparency, Avanti Esport made the decision to publicly distance themselves from the proposal and formally rejected the offer.

However, as the Parken Challenger Championship #2 concluded, the final standings raised several eyebrows. In a startling twist, Avanti Esport lost every single one of the five matches they were previously incentivized to throw.

This statistical anomaly has ignited a heated debate among fans. Critics and observers are now questioning whether the public whistleblowing was a sophisticated smoke screen or if the team simply suffered from an extraordinary stroke of bad luck on the server.
