Cosplayer Portrays Ranni the Witch from Elden Ring

Cosplayer Madame de Zhukov has portrayed Ranni the Witch from Elden Ring, capturing a character who refuses to be a puppet in the hands of higher powers and stands ready to make immense sacrifices for the true freedom of her world.

Photographer Sofia “CHATSKYPHOTO” Chatskaya and cosplayer Madame de Zhukov ventured into the Lands Between to treat fans of the action role-playing souls-like game Elden Ring to a new photoshoot.

During the shoot, the model appeared as Ranni the Witch, a demigod and key character in a massive storyline that leads to one of the game’s unique endings.

Ranni’s appearance is deceptive, as the body seen by the player is merely a four-armed doll crafted from fabric and thread, bearing a distant resemblance to her fallen mentor, the Snow Witch.

She wears a flowing white dress, a fur cloak, and a massive pointed hat that conceals one of her glowing eyes. In terms of personality, Ranni is arrogant, cold, and incredibly ambitious, though she is not incapable of loyalty and hidden care for those who serve her faithfully, whether that is Blaidd the Half-Wolf, war counselor Iji, or the Tarnished.

She possesses an unyielding will, rejects being a puppet of higher powers, and remains ready to make immense sacrifices for the true freedom of her world. Ranni’s magical abilities are extremely powerful, centering around cold sorcery, the dark moon, and the stars.

Her storyline offers a deep philosophical perspective on freedom of choice: in her ending, she leads the world away from the oppression of external gods and into the cold unknown of the cosmos. Furthermore, Ranni appeals to players through her aesthetics and the opportunity to become her loyal consort.
