Classic Resident Evil Outbreak Now Playable for Free in Web Browsers
An unofficial browser project called “OutbreakWEB” lets players try Resident Evil Outbreak 1 and 2 for free. Its release has brought players’ attention back to several older games in the Resident Evil franchise.
The original scenarios are available to play. Players can go through them solo or online with friends.
Resident Evil Outbreak features a range of characters, each with their own traits. In “single-player” mode, AI partners accompany the protagonist.

Some players have already tested the browser project. A user going by sereneasmiles pointed out technical problems. The user also said this version has helped raise the profile of Resident Evil Outbreak, for which fans previously launched an unofficial server called OSR:
I played a bit: the lobby is very janky, and it often fails to let me into rooms. On top of that, the game itself has quite heavy lag. The default control scheme is awful, and even after customizing it, the analog controls feel strange compared with the PCSX2 emulator. Still, I’m glad someone made this at all, and it seems to be far more popular than Outbreak Server Resurrection.
