Avengers icon Chris Evans has officially joined the cast of the upcoming feature My Darling California, as reported by Deadline.
Evans steps into the role originally slated for Josh Brolin. He joins a formidable ensemble that includes Academy Award winners Jessica Chastain and Mikey Madison, alongside Chris Pine, Don Cheadle, and Charles Melton.
The project is written and directed by Elijah Bynum, known for his work on the sports drama Hot Summer Nights. Set against the backdrop of 1980s Los Angeles, the narrative follows a crime that irrevocably intertwines the lives of disparate characters: a television host and his country singer wife, a pair of low-level grifters, and a reformed con artist.
Specific details regarding Evans’ character remain under wraps. Beyond this project, the actor is set to reprise his iconic role as Captain America (Steve Rogers) in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
