CD Projekt Red Preparing New Witcher Surprises Ahead of The Witcher 4
CD Projekt RED has announced that the Witcher universe will receive “a lot” of new content before the release of The Witcher 4, which is not expected until at least 2028.
According to CD Projekt RED, players can expect substantial franchise releases leading up to the next mainline title. The studio indicated that the Songs of the Past expansion, scheduled for 2027, is only one part of these upcoming plans.
The studio has previously announced an updated version of The Witcher 3 alongside a collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment. CD Projekt RED’s recent statement signals that more projects remain unannounced. Online speculation currently centers around possible smaller spin-offs, new crossover collaborations, animated adaptations, and comic books.

The developer has not confirmed specific details regarding the upcoming projects. The ongoing releases aim to maintain franchise momentum across the coming years ahead of the new trilogy’s debut.
