Beyond securing a coveted golden ticket to Hollywood, contestants on American Idol this season have received an unexpected, high-end surprise courtesy of a country music icon.
In a heartfelt social media update on Monday (April 13), season 24 Top 11 finalist Hannah Harper revealed she was gifted a thoughtful present from judge and former Idol champion, Carrie Underwood.
“I never imagined my first piece of Tiffany & Co. jewelry would come from Carrie Underwood,” Harper shared on Facebook, alongside images of the signature blue box. “However, the handwritten note tucked inside meant even more to me than the gift itself.”
The letter from Underwood served as a sincere tribute to Harper’s vocal talent and her resilience. Harper, who has been transparent about her journey as a stay-at-home mother navigating the challenges of postpartum depression, clearly struck a chord with the superstar judge.
In the note, Underwood wrote, “From the moment I first heard your story and your voice, I knew you were extraordinary. You are such an inspiration to women and mothers everywhere. I cannot wait to witness the path ahead for you, and I feel honored to have a front-row seat to your journey.”
Reflecting on the encounter, Harper praised Underwood for being as grounded and authentic as her public persona suggests, calling her a “genuinely kind human.”
Harper isn’t the only contestant to experience such generosity. Fellow Top 11 finalist Keyla Richardson took to Instagram on Tuesday (April 14) to express her gratitude for a similar gift.
“Your immense kindness and generosity are difficult to put into words,” Richardson wrote. “The fact that you carved out time to support me in this way truly highlights the classy, incredible woman you are.”
Underwood, who claimed her own American Idol victory two decades ago, is currently midway through her second consecutive season on the judging panel. Since her meteoric rise in 2005, she has cemented her status as a global superstar, boasting 43 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and ten appearances on the Billboard 200.
