Capcom Explains Why Resident Evil Requiem Will Launch Without a Demo

With just over three months until Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem arrives, fans should not expect a free demo like those released for Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, or the Resident Evil 4 remake.

Producer Masato Kumazawa said in an interview that a demo is “not planned at this time.”

So, regarding a demo — we don’t have one at this stage. Not at all. We’re focused on finishing the game, and the team is doing everything they can to deliver a product of the highest quality.

The reasoning is clear: the game accrued more than a million wishlist additions within weeks of its announcement. It’s also worth remembering previous demos where timers were bypassed, letting players continue beyond the time developers intended.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on February 27, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
