Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s peak on Steam is less than half of Battlefield 6’s and ARC Raiders’ concurrent players

Call of Duty has long been seen as one of the industry’s flagship franchises, but the series is currently going through serious trouble.

The recently released Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was met with immediate criticism from players. The single-player campaign lacks a pause feature, the narrative increasingly feels like a poorly written fanfic, and the PC build’s performance metrics are notably weak.

Where previous Call of Duty launches typically produced huge peaks in concurrent players, this year’s entry failed to top even 100,000 simultaneous users. The shortfall is even more stark when compared to Battlefield 6 and ARC Raiders: over the last day Black Ops 7 recorded only 32% of Battlefield 6’s peak and just 20% of ARC Raiders’ numbers. For Activision, that’s a significant blow.

Statistics for the past 24 hours:

• Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — 93,247 peak players;

• Battlefield 6 — 290,411;

• ARC Raiders — 449,610.
