The adaptation of Q Hayashida’s cult manga series finally makes its return after a six-year hiatus.
Studio MAPPA has unveiled the debut trailer for the second season of the anime Dorohedoro. The sequel is slated to premiere on Netflix and Crunchyroll on April 1, marking its comeback more than six years after the first season’s original debut.
MAPPA remains the creative force behind the new season. Director Yuichiro Hayashi has returned to helm the project after concluding his work on the epic finale of Attack on Titan. Hiroshi Seko is once again handling the series composition, while Tomohiro Kishi reprises his role as character designer.
The soundtrack will once again be crafted by the musical collective (K)NoW_NAME. The trailer offers a first listen to the new opening theme, “Zettai Must Danmen,” as well as the ending track, “Return To Head.”
The narrative continues the journey of Caiman and Nikaido amidst the ongoing friction between the Sorcerers’ Realm and the city known as Hole. This season will focus heavily on the Cross-Eyes—a faction of low-level magic users challenging the established order. Their escalating confrontation with the En Family is set to be one of the sequel’s primary story arcs.
