Breathe More Life into inZOI

Happy Friday, everyone!
As per our weekly routine, we are thrilled to share a brand-new video highlighting what the inZOI development team has been pouring their efforts into lately.
Recently, we adopted a fresh perspective by stripping our workflow back to the core fundamentals. We are meticulously auditing every facet of the game, refining and polishing it element by element. The deeper we dive, the more underlying aspects we uncover that should have been polished from the outset, and for that, we sincerely apologize.
Even so, we firmly believe that with a steadfast vision and persistent momentum, we might stumble along the way, but we will never stop moving forward.
Lately, my primary focus has been completely revamping our autonomy architecture. Rather than applying superficial band-aids, I wanted to rebuild the decision-making logic from the ground up.
Take dining behavior, for instance: whenever a ZOI decides to sit down and enjoy a meal, the game now executes a structured, step-by-step search for the most logical dining spot.
Initially, it scans the immediate room for a dining table or standard table. If nothing is available, the search radius progressively expands.
Should the ZOI be inside a residential or commercial property, the system evaluates the entire lot, prioritizing indoor dining spaces before considering outdoor arrangements. If the character is out in the open world or outside a designated lot, the engine scans for an appropriate table within a strict 40-meter radius.
In the event that no suitable table can be located, the ZOI will seek out a nearby chair to eat comfortably while holding their food. Furthermore, if companions or family members are close by, the updated system coordinates their positions so they can sit together and share the meal naturally.
Naturally, executing this intricate decision-making tree for numerous ZOIs simultaneously can be resource-heavy. To maintain optimal performance, we have streamlined search hierarchies, restricted unnecessary computational scopes, and heavily optimized the underlying code.
It is admittedly humbling that such foundational mechanics required such an extensive overhaul. If you encounter any other instances where autonomous actions feel unnatural or clumsy, please reach out and share your insights. Your firsthand experiences and constructive feedback are instrumental in helping us craft superior solutions.
We remain fully committed to auditing inZOI system by system, relentlessly striving to elevate it into the ultimate simulation experience.
As the summer heat continues to soar globally, please remember to stay hydrated, keep cool, and enjoy a fantastic weekend ahead.
Thank you for your continued support.
