Academy Award–nominee Bradley Cooper has joined Margot Robbie in the untitled prequel to Ocean’s Eleven, Variety reports.
Ryan Gosling had previously been in contention for the lead. The story will focus on Danny Ocean’s parents (originally portrayed by George Clooney) and is set in Europe during the 1960s. Lee Isaac Chung (Twister 2) is attached to direct, and Warner Bros. will distribute the film.
Earlier reports indicated that production on the new Ocean’s installment is slated to begin in 2026. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts are all expected to return to their roles.
Before the year is out, Cooper is set to release his third directorial effort, the dramedy Does This Thing Work?, in which he also appears in a supporting role.
