Bond director Lee Tamahori dies

New Zealand director Lee Tamahori has died at the age of 75, his relatives told the media.

He succumbed to Parkinson’s disease. Tamahori was born in 1950 in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. He first gained wide recognition with the drama “Once Were Warriors” (1994), which opened the door to a career in Hollywood.

Among his best-known credits are “Die Another Day”, “Next” starring Nicolas Cage, “xXx: State of the Union” with Vin Diesel, and episodes of “The Sopranos”, among others. Tamahori’s most recent film, “On the Edge of the World”, was released in 2023.
