Blogger showcases remake of canceled Resident Evil 4 horror version on Unreal Engine
The project’s creative direction underwent a radical transformation during its development cycle.
The creator behind the YouTube channel Luli Studio recently unveiled a compelling remake of “Resident Evil 3.5 Hookman,” meticulously built using Unreal Engine.
This project breathes new life into the discarded version of Resident Evil 4 that debuted at E3 2003. While Leon S. Kennedy remains the protagonist, this iteration was designed with a much more sinister and supernatural tone. In this lost vision, the hero would have navigated a haunted castle, enduring psychological horrors and fleeing from the relentless “Hookman” entity.
Luli Studio clarified that the footage represents an older build and that the original project files are no longer accessible. However, the developer is now weighing the possibility of using their refined Unreal Engine expertise to construct a fresh, fully playable Resident Evil 3.5 demo.
